Acting Toronto Academy Eight week Filmmaking Program

Objectives
Our workshop is designed for young people with little or no experience in making films. They are designed to arm students with the skills and confidence needed to shoot a series of portfolio pieces. To fulfill this goal, the workshop will focus on the elements of visual storytelling. Technical aspects of the process of film making are also an important aspect of this workshop as the student will leave with a clearer idea of the various areas of the film making process from preproduction to final product.
 
PreRequisites
You need to be of 17 years of age & student must have a digital DV or HD camera. If student does not have digital camera can rent from school for additional cost.
 
Total hours
32 hours classes for 8 weeks.

Instructor Bio:
Eric Wiegand is a film and television production professional who has worked in virtually every area of the film making process over the past 20 years. From the nuance of lighting and setting the shot for a scene to the nuts and bolts of organizing a shoot for maximum efficiency. Eric has worked with many young film makers as they have developed and produced their first projects such as the HD feature "Drop Dead Roses" and the comedy short "How To Be More Chinese". Eric has also produced and directed short films, documentaries and television comedy and variety specials. A Ryerson graduate Eric has also done time as Artist in Residence at Sony Of Canada working with emerging technologies. Eric will bring this wealth of practical experience to the classroom to walk the beginner through the basic steps of the film making process.
