FILM ACTING SCHOOLS ESSENTIAL FILM ACTING TRAINING DESIGNED FOR THE SERIOUS ACTOR.
 
Objectives
THESE COURSES ARE DESIGNED FOR BEGINNERS OR THOSE WITH LIMITED EXPERIENCE IN ACTING ON CAMERA AND NEED TO EXPERIENCE DIFFRERENT METHODS OF ACTING TO INCORPORATE INTO FILM SCENES. BY TAKING THESE COURSES THE STUDENT WILL KNOW IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME WITHOUT GOING YEARS TO COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY TO TRAIN IN ACTING TO FIND OUT IF THEY HAVE IT OR THEY DON’T. SCHOOL WILL GIVE OUT WRITTEN ASSESSMENT ON EACH COURSE FILM ACTING STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO WALK OUT WITH SCENES FOR THEIR DEMO REEL.
 
Completion
At the end of each course each student actor will be given a detailed written report on the skills, abilities and areas of difficulty for each student and recommendations for their pursuit in this difficult industry.
**Students who wish to extract best scenes to be edited for their demo reel will be charged an additional fee of $500.00.
 
About The Meisner Technique course
The Meisner Technique course is a two week course (38 hours)will introduce Acting Schools students to the basic craft of acting, how to access their inner resources to portray themselves truthfully for the camera and overcome the technical demands made on actors working in film and television. The Acting Schools students will start off learning the Meisner Technique “Acting is living truthfully under imaginary circumstances.” The Meisner Technique forces an actor to place their entire attention on the other actor so that they can respond truthfully and spontaneously in the moment and learn to master the skill of authentic listening. They will apply Meisner’s approach to their work in recorded film scenes. The last week of training will end with a scene showcase for students. Cost $975.00
 
About The Batson Technique course
The 'Batson Technique' course is a two week course (38 hours). Acting Schools students to break down physical and internal inhibitions, and help each student find the most effective personal sources for the creation of truthful characters. In acting we must learn to have private moments in public, to be seen and heard. This takes training as it goes against social norm where we all learn to hide, suppress, block and deny feelings. To share deep feelings creates ‘Intimacy’ INTO-ME-SEE is what great actors do on camera. They allow us in to a full emotional life. Acting Schools students will explore emotional embodiment, emotional preparation, and increase emotional range by dropping into the bottom of the unfulfilled NEED of the character. Personalization is the technique of bringing the student their inner stuff to the script. Acting Schools students will explore ‘private moments’ and other tools for building character. Acting Schools students will also define screen versus stage, film versus television, the camera, transitive verbs and finding actions as an actor, continuity, reactions and business, the ethics of film acting, working with directors and more. Acting Schools students will learn to build characters through understanding the face the character presents to the public, the unspoken unfulfilled need (usually opposite to that) and the tragic personality flaw that they struggle with. Acting Schools students will learn to make adjustments when working with guest directors. At the end of this program Film Acting Schools students will present scenes and monologues to teachers and possible invited professional guests) to view showcase. It is imperative students first take the Meisner Technique course before Experiencing training in this course. Cost $975.00
 
The Method Acting Course
Method Acting incorporated into Film Scene Training course is a two week course ( 38 hours) will teach Film Acting Schools students how to apply method acting as well as integrade Meisner, Method & Batson Technique into two weeks of film scene training. Film Acting Schools students will analyze, rehearse and perform for the camera, scenes from popular television programs, feature films and theatre plays. Film Acting Schools students will train and be prepared for roles in film and television by learning techniques and skills useful in the arts of cold readings, script interpretation and performing for the camera. This section will educate through immediate feedback, their strengths and weaknesses when acting for the camera, as well as revealing what their character is thinking and feeling. At the end of the 2 weeks students will showcase scenes for their demo reel. Cost $975.00
 
The Sketch & Stand Up Comedy
Sketch & Stand Up Comedy is a one week course (25) hours. Students will experience learning writing jokes, as well as finalizing selections of comic monologues. Students will also experience different kind of sketches which shall be presented in performance. Students will also explore situation comedy with scenes from original scripts. Cost $875.00
The T.V. Commercial Audition Techniques
T.V. Commercial Audition Techniques is a one week course (25) hours. Acting Schools students will focus on TV commercials and the secrets to booking them. This covers: slating, understanding what is in the frame, improvisation for commercials, hitting your mark, corporate infomercials and the commercial auditions as well as how to ‘get your shine on’ so you can let people know what you can do! Acting Schools students will participate in mock auditions for a TV commercial with guests from the industry i.e. Casting Director, Talent Agent watching and critiquing the Acting School students. Cost $875.00
 
The Film & Television Audition Techniques
Film & Television Audition Techniques is a one week course (25 hours). Acting Schools student will be learning what to do, what not to do, how not to panic if casting changes their minds of the audition and throws a new character at you. Film Acting Schools students will explore the 12 guide posts of Michael Shurleff’s audition techniques. Students will participate in a mock audition and receive feedback from professionals (agents and casting directors included). Cost $875.00
 
The Film Directors Film Scene
Film Directors Film Scene course one week (25 hours). Film Acting Students will be learning from a Directors Point of View course one full week (25 hours). Film Acting Schools students will explore film scenes from a Directors point of view, understanding continuity, overlapping, as well as working on scenes for their demo reel. Cost $875.00
 
The Business of Show Business course
The Business of Show Business course three day workshop (15 hours) Film Acting Students will be introduced to and taught the business and politics of acting. Topics to be addressed will include: Hiring the Right Agent; The Agent-Actor Relationship; Pros and Cons of Union versus Non-Union Work; ACTRA Membership - Background, Apprentice, Full Time Work, Policies and Regulations; Creating Value For and Selling Yourself; Professional Conduct On Set and Off; The Roles of the Casting Director and Talent Agent; Income Tax Record Keeping; Self-Promotion: Headshots, Resumes, Covering Letters, Business Cards and Promotional Demo Reels. Special guests from the entertainment industry will include: casting directors, talent agents, an accountant, a professional photographer, an ACTRA representative, an experienced film/television director/producer and professional actors established and beginning to speak to the class on the business of show business. Cost $495.00
