Initial Session:

Introduction to Screenwriting -
- Creating the story
- Formatting the script
- Breakdown of scenes
- Continuity
- Dialogue
- Reviewing existing screenplays
- Watching movies exemplifying different genres, focusing on the script
- Reviewing scenes
- Establishing and assigning stories to be adapted into short film scripts
- First draft storylines
Second Session:
Hours: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
The First Take-
- Reviewing initial drafts of scripts, making any story changes
- Final drafts of scripts delivered by students in table read (Possibly bringing in local actors or student actors to play the parts)
- Completion certificates to all students and mock Academy Award statue to winning script
Supplies needed:
Screenwriting program (Final Draft, etc) or word processing program, classroom, computers, television with DVD, notebooks/paper, pens.
